DMC strings have a really good quality, you can get them in pearl yarn or floss variation. I personally like the pearl yarn size 5 ones the best, because they don’t separate themselves like the floss. But they also have their proud price of about 2.90$ for 25m. The floss is less than 2$ for the same length.

I also really like their quality, because they don’t bleed as much color out as other brands.

Embroidery Floss is probably the most commonly used threat to knot a bracelet, even if they’re actually thought for cross-stitching. But I mean I can understand that pretty well, you can get a pack of 105 different colours for less than 11$ – and not to lie, the quality isn’t the worst. And since most people have them anyways at home… Just, what I think is a little pity, is that they sell only 8m strands, what doesn’t necessarily makes them cheaper than the DMC strings…

Scissors What else do you want to cut your strings with? A knife? A doorknob? Make it easy, get a pair of scissors…

  • Of course, every sharp item should work if you use it the right way, but common – scissors are such a great invention!

Tape It can help you to get started with a bracelet, when you tape the strings tightly to each other, and you can keep them easily in the right position, this is especially helpful when you have a lot of strings and different colors.

Tipp: If you don’t work with a loop and a button:

  • Make sure to leave enough of the strands, if you plan to brade, twist, macrame, or what ever else you want to do, to finish the ends of your bracelet. Otherwise there’s no way that you can wear it!
