Alpha Pattern To write in two colors on the Alpha Pattern, you start again at the top of your pattern sheet. You lay or tape the base strings (in my case red) in front of you and start making (black) knots with your work string, you are always working from the left to the right, back, and again from the left to the right, etc. When you don’t need the colour of the workstring, but the color of the base string, you make a knot with the base string over the work string, but be careful, the errors don’t really show you the right direction, it is easier to ignore the errors in the red circles but look at the little red and black strings that represent your two types of string, because in the end they have to be, where they belong.
